Fourth of July - 2015

Having left the hospital after lunch on the 3rd, July 4th is kind of a blur. We had our first night home with Elle the night before-no nursery to send her to for some sleep, and no electric bed to help me sit up (4 days after a c-section...woof!). We were tired and looking back, we were crazy, but we got up at 6am and took Jayne to see the hot air balloons because we knew she'd love it!  They inflate/take off right next to the hospital so being there, I kind of felt like we never left...maybe we shouldn't have because we would've had parking  right close by and a nursery to watch Elle... :)
We didn't feel the need to get super close as you can see the balloons from far away so we found a nice little spot of grass and shade and enjoyed ourselves.

We thought Jayne would love it, and she did! She was so excited to see the "BIIIIIG bwooons!"

Unfortunately after all our work of trekking over there, it was too windy for them to take off. I guess we were lucky that they chose to even inflate them just for the crowd/kids.

The crowd started to thin out once people realized they weren't going to take off so we wandered over for a closer look. Jayne LOVED it!

When we told her it was time to go home she held out her hand for us to hold and asked for more. Once I held her hand, she turned me around and walked me back toward the balloons. We loved seeing her excitement and that made it all worth it!

Later that night we had my family over for fireworks. We snapped a family photo too. (I definitely didn't think we'd have a baby for the 4th of July, unless by some "small" -in my mind- chance I delivered that day...still so crazy to me!)

Jayne had fun seeing her first fireworks, that she remembers that is. She helped dad and grandpa light a few.

And then she just kicked it with the fam

Braden brought his friend, Matt, along and Jayne really liked playing with him!

Jayne even held her own sparkler (with help from daddy) and asked for more when we were all finished.

After the balloons, a new baby at home and fireworks at night, we were exhausted. But it was the 4th! So we had to celebrate-and we had a great time!
Happy 4th of July!
