We had SO much fun in Disney World. Ah, I just want to go back! The girls were happy, Jayne thought everything was magical and spending time together as a family was something I'll always treasure. We got up at 3:30am to catch our flight out of SLC Wednesday morning, didn't get into the hotel in Florida until 4:30pm and to bed until around 8:30pm plus we jumped ahead two hours in time zones...so we decided to take would take the 10am shuttle to the parks rather than the 7am on Thursday morning to give the girls some extra rest. Good decision team!
Jayne had been counting down the days at home so after we didn't go to Disney that first "day" in Florida she was more than ready to go the following morning. Elle was happy to go along for the ride, and cute too! :)
We went straight to Fantasyland where our first fastpass was. It helped us get our bearings plus Jayne got to see Cinderella's Castle up close. She'd been dreaming about it for a couple months!
The minute she saw the carousel, she had to "go on the horses momma!" So our first ride in Disney World was the carousel. Jayne was all smiles!
We scored a fastpass to meet Anna and Elsa that morning so we made our way to Fairytale Hall.
Such a happy camper! Her hair was moist those first few days...nearly 100% humidity will do that!
It was Jayne's first meet-and-greet experience so she was a little timid but eventually warmed up to it and figured it out.
Jayne loved to go and sit down next to the princesses. I seriously love Disney princesses and how amazing they are with kids. Anna was no exception. Jayne was a little shy but Anna got right down with her and showed her the pink flowers on her dress and that they matched Jayne's shoes. That's all it took for Jayne to open up. It was so sweet.
A little later we made our way to the "Be Our Guest" restaurant for our lunch reservation. I was excited for this and it did not disappoint! You eat in a room that is a replica of the ballroom in Beauty and the Beast with the beautiful chandeliers, the effect of it "snowing" outside the windows and amazing food. It was fun to continue the whole Disney experience while taking a lunch break.
They had a couple different rooms to wander through/eat in: the West Wing with the rose and mirror and another room with a large dancing Belle and Beast.
It was a fun experience and we were glad we scored a reservation!
Our afternoon consisted of rides, rides and more rides plus a little siesta for these two.
They timed their nap perfectly for when we waited in a spot for the Festival of Fantasy parade. Thanks girls :) We loved the parade and had a great view!
Jayne was pretty scared of the dragon when it came by. We just had to explain to her that someone was driving it like a car. Good thing that girl understands so much! That trick really helped and was useful throughout the trip.
We met Ariel later that day. She called Jayne her "ginger-fish friend".
At the end of the night we watched the Wishes Spectacular show at the castle which was great! Jayne had been excited to see fireworks at the castle for a while so seeing her watch the show was a lot of fun. Then we made our way down Main Street with two tired girls in tow. Jayne was still happy and Elle fell fast asleep so we sent Phil and Jayne off to meet Tinkerbell while Elle and I held a spot for the electric parade.
While in line for Tinkerbell you wander through a bit of Pixie Hollow.
Tinkerbell was a surprise of this trip in that Jayne loved her! She'd never seen much about her before or even talked about her but she loved meeting her!
She was so excited to tell me all about it when she and Phil found us again. Her eyes just lit up while she told me about it. Its those small things that made this trip so magical.
We finished off the day with the Electrical Parade. It was beautiful to watch and had plenty of princesses in it to keep Jayne happy.
Jayne still giggles about the "silly turtle". He just zoomed back and forth and made funny noises as he went by.
We took the ferry back to the parking lot, watching the water electrical parade behind, and all happily (and very quickly!) fell asleep that night after our first full day of Disney fun!
