Jayne - 1 Month

It is crazy how fast the time is passing. The first few weeks were definitely a blur as we all tried to figure out life together but I wouldn't trade it for anything. 

I love seeing how small she was from birth up to one month. She's changing so quickly! 

Some little things about Jayne at 1 month:

• She loves to have her hands right at her face, usually near her mouth.This has made feedings a little tricky. We also have to keep baby mittens on her to protect her face. She just loves to have those hands up there.
• Going along with her hands on her face, we can put our hand or a blanket on her cheek and it instantly soothes her. She must have had those hands up there in the womb because its definitely a soothing thing for her.
• We're both getting the hang of feedings now. It is a difficult skill to learn!
• She loves her soothie binky! and we are grateful that she does. It instantly calms her down.
• She's starting to find her voice meaning she'll make a little noise and then act like she's trying to figure out where it came from. We can't wait to hear more from her.
• Her swing is her favorite thing. Sometimes she's fussy and its like she's telling us, "Stop holding me and put me in my swing!" She's always happy there and will put herself to sleep after enjoying herself for a while. Mommy and Daddy are grateful for that too!
• She's got dad's sleepy genes. She's pretty tired most of the time, but that's normal for newborns. We've recently noticed increased alertness. She seems to get more alert each day. 

 I love her little hands and toes! :)

For the first couple weeks, Jayne hated to have her clothes off. Maybe she was cold? or it was just so different from hotel uterus? :) Anyway, it certainly made nakie pictures difficult! 

Daddy has always been a calming influence for Jayne. Even in my stomach, Phil's hand on my tummy would calm her kicking down. She loves her daddy!
