Blech

3 am.
Woken up from sleeping.
Watching Glee....why?
Crying baby? : Negative (don't have one. not possible)
Loud noise outside? : Negative
Phil snoring? : Negative

..................................................

Mosquitoes? : YES!

Okay.  Not like physical mosquitoes, but I was feeling the effects of those darn things!
We went on a picnic with our friends on Monday night and what do I come home to?
7.

That's right. 7 mosquito bites from the knee down.
3 on the ankles/heels.

Why?
:(

Phil doesn't have a single one.  Blech.
I know that I'm super allergic, like more than normal
but this was crazy.  Like I couldn't get back to sleep crazy.
So good thing that Phil couldn't sleep either...
(possibly thanks to his zero bites?  Unlikely)
...and good thing that we have Foxtel.
(like TV-o for you Americans)

So this morning from 3am - 4am, we watched Glee.
And then once my legs were numbed from ice,
we got some rest until work time.

Oh I'm just so lucky to be so sweet that the bugs love me.
What a blessing.
Blessing for the darn bugs.

That's my vent for the day.
3 am!

  1. OK, that used to happen to me! It ads confirmation to my theory that the mosquitos prefer foreign blood. I'm not saying they don't bite Aussies, but given the choice between homeland blood and foreign, they gravitate to the foreign. I've talked to a few mixed nationality couples about this and they all confirm the same thing. Krystal Owen has the best stuff for preventing bites called Lemon Myrtle. It works awesome and smells like lemonade! Not sure where she gets it though, maybe a health food store? I sure don't miss those mosquitos, and those flies that like to try flying into your eyes or mouth and then hitch a ride on your back!

  2. Bummer! Kaylee I think you need to always have insect repellant with you. Kind of like me and sunscreen. You never know when you will need it. Are they all swollen and infected yet? Unfortunately the mosquitos in the states love you just as much. It really must be your sweet blood :)

  3. They're getting swollen and my ankle was super sore last night...We bought a 'travel' bug spray for my purse last night. Maybe a little to late eh? Kim- I'm going to ask Krystal about that stuff. Anything I can do to keep these bugs away!

  4. Lavender oil is great to put on mosquito bites! They love me too and mine get all red and swollen. I think you can get lavender oil from supermarkets sometimes but it works really quick-like straight away
