30 weeks!

I've always thought when people said they were 30, 31, 30-anything weeks that they were far along. And now that's me! Not long now and our little Bump will be a little person in our arms! I organized my update into sections this week (Thanks Lauren for the great idea) to hopefully make it less boring. :)

What is new this week?
Hiccups! Miss Bump is going to be just like her mom. There is a running joke in my house is that I always have the "kaylee jo's" meaning hiccups. I get them at least once a day, if not more, and they're vicious and loud. No hiding these babies. I feel the soft thumps of Bump's hiccups daily. Like mother, like daughter.

How big is the baby?
Over 3 pounds, and now gaining around 1/2lb each week.

Maternity clothes?
Yes and no. Shirts, yes...because they're flowy for this crazy heat we're having! Ross is the place to go ladies!

Sleep?
Up & down. Some mornings I wake up and think, "Phew, I can still sleep!" and then the next two nights come and I'm tired before I even make it out of bed. The warmth doesn't really help either. My fan is my best friend :)

Best moment of the week?
The hiccups! My mom actually told me what they were while sitting in a church meeting together. I'd felt them before but they were always during music so in my little musical hearth I thought Bump was just thumpin' along to the beat. But the thumps were milder than normal kicks and movement...and probably too rhythmic for even a musical child of mine. :) With my credentials in hiccups or "kaylee jo's" I knew my mom was right, and they're a regular occurrence since. I've been told to enjoy them now, because as time goes, my belly will be jumping with the hiccups...joy!

Food cravings/aversions?
The past few weeks I've been craving hot dogs. But they must be barbecued so they're crispy on the outside. Cheap and easy right? I'm not complaining. Aversions? Deli ham is the most recent heartburn culprit. I thought I was resigned to 24/7 heartburn earlier this week but was able to narrow it down to the darn ham!

What I miss?
Jumping out of the car/a chair/bed in 2 seconds. I go to get out of the car quickly and halfway through I remember that my body is a little different these days. I also miss early May, when I thought it was hot. Because now I just don't think its hot. I know its hot.

What I don't miss?
People wondering if I'm pregnant or not. Its no longer "Is she gaining weight? or pregnant? or what?" Now it's like "when are you due?"

Overall mood?
A little more cranky than normal...or it takes less to make me cranky. But it usually passes-once I get food :)

What I'm looking forward to?
Mainly I'm looking forward to putting little clothes on a little person. I know from younger siblings that clothes changes can be frequent with babies so I guess I'm lucky! We'll see how long I love it for.

I'm also excited as the nursery is coming together. We're waiting for a new line at our favorite store for the last few things. And by waiting I mean looking at the pictures of the remaining items everyday and wishing I could go get them now. Our bank account probably loves that I can't but I don't! :)

And here's 30 week Kaylee Jo & Bump. Heat + pregnancy = flowy shirts. Woot woot!

  1. You look SOOOOO cute!! I love it. Hiccups are the worst ever after you have the baby. Like your baby will be dead asleep and you think you are going to put them down and get right back to sleep. Then the hiccups hit and you are trying to get rid of them for what seems like forever. Your baby will be here before you know it!

  2. I think you have the same rug as us. It's too bad you can't visit in Rochester, it's been rainy and cool this week.
